BT Facilities Services – a new self-delivery FM organisation is born.
At a breakfast briefing organised by i-FM and Bernard Williams of IFPI last month Neil Edmond – the newly installed Director of Operations for BT Facilities Services – told the invited audience the reasons why BT have taken the giant stride into self-delivery of FM services.
He left no-one in any doubt that things would be a lot different in the new regime – including a move towards payment of the National Living Wage and away from always selecting the lowest price.
BT have been using the EstatesMaster web-enabled software to benchmark the costs of their Cleaning and Maintenance under the former Monteray contract and are now looking at ways of using the program to help them move towards a more cost-effective method of delivering and controlling the cost and quality of FM services.
